Job Description
Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the complete supply chain operations for bakery production units and retail outlets. The role includes procurement of raw materials, inventory management, logistics coordination, vendor management, warehouse control, and timely distribution of bakery products to all outlets while ensuring quality, freshness, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source and procure bakery raw materials such as flour, sugar, dairy products, chocolates, creams, packaging materials, and ingredients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials for production and outlets.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
- Reduce wastage, expiry losses, and stock shortages.
- Conduct regular stock audits at factory and outlets.
Production Coordination
- Coordinate with production teams for daily and weekly production planning.
- Ensure availability of materials for cakes, pastries, breads, and bakery items.
- Support smooth production operations with timely supply planning.
Logistics & Distribution
- Manage dispatch and delivery schedules to retail outlets.
- Ensure timely transportation of fresh bakery products.
- Monitor vehicle utilization and route planning.
- Coordinate emergency deliveries during peak demand periods.
Outlet Supply Management
- Track outlet-wise consumption and stock movement.
- Ensure all outlets receive products and materials on time.
- Coordinate with outlet managers regarding stock requirements and shortages.
Warehouse Operations
- Supervise warehouse activities including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for perishable and non-perishable goods.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO inventory systems.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor supply chain expenses and optimize operational costs.
- Prepare purchase reports, inventory reports, and supply chain MIS reports.
- Analyze demand trends and recommend improvements.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed in storage and transportation.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and food industry regulations.
- Monitor quality of incoming materials and returned products.
