Java Developer – Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations and applications using Java/J2EE technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework).
• Develop web/UI components using modern frameworks such as React JS, delivering high-quality, user-friendly interfaces.
• Build and support interfaces using RESTful web services, handling JSON, XML, and CSV formats.
• Develop and consume APIs using Spring Boot / Spring MVC (REST Controllers).
• Work with enterprise Java technologies including Spring, Hibernate/JPA, and microservices architecture.
• Strong involvement in database development, optimization, and performance tuning, with a focus on PL/SQL.
• Design and implement solutions based on architecture guidelines and business requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, QA, and production environments.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and iterative delivery processes.
• Maintain clear documentation, including technical designs, API specifications, and support runbooks.

Requirements / Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 6–9 years of hands-on experience in Java development, specifically:
  • Java / J2EE Technologies
  • Spring Boot / Spring Framework
  • Hibernate / JPA
• Experience with enterprise UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or similar.
• Strong experience in RESTful web services development and consumption.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes – preferred).
• Strong expertise in PL/SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Proficiency in handling structured and semi-structured data formats (XML, JSON, CSV).
• Experience with integration protocols and messaging systems such as:
  • REST / SOAP
  • Kafka / RabbitMQ / JMS
  • SFTP
• Understanding of API security, including authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT).
• Strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, and error handling in distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with:
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Version control (Git)
  • Build tools (Maven/Gradle)

Must Have

• Strong technical expertise across Java backend development, integration frameworks, and databases.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, technologies, and business needs.
• Proven ability to work independently and within Agile teams.
