Job Title: Welder
Department: Manufacturing / Construction / Maintenance
Reports To: Supervisor / Foreman
Job Summary
A welder is responsible for assembling and repairing metal structures and equipment by using various welding techniques. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
- Set up welding equipment and select proper materials
- Perform welding tasks using methods such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures for defects
- Repair machinery and metal components as needed
- Maintain tools and welding equipment
- Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear
- Measure, cut, and shape metal parts accurately
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder or similar role
- Knowledge of different welding techniques (ARC, TIG, Stick)
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Physical strength and stamina
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures
- Certification in welding (preferred in many jobs)
