Ayurveda Therapist – Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Ayurveda Therapist to join our wellness team. The role focuses on delivering authentic, results-driven Ayurvedic treatments across Skin, Hair, and Body care, while ensuring an exceptional client experience and maintaining knowledge of traditional medicine preparation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ayurvedic Therapies Administer a range of classical Ayurvedic treatments tailored to individual body types (Prakriti) and health needs, including:

• Skin: Mukhalepam (herbal face pack), Udwarthanam (powder massage), Nalpamaradi Thailam therapy
• Hair: Shiroabhyanga (head massage), Shirobasti, Nasya (nasal oleation therapy)
• Body: Shirodhara (oil streaming therapy), Abhyanga (full body oil massage), Basti (medicated enema/oil therapy), Pinda Sweda (herbal bolus massage), Kati Basti (lower back oil pooling)

2. Customer Handling

• Conduct initial client consultations to assess Dosha imbalances and recommend suitable treatments.
• Build trust and maintain long-term client relationships through personalized care.
• Address client concerns, explain procedures clearly, and ensure comfort and safety throughout sessions.
• Maintain accurate client records and follow-up on treatment progress.

3. Medicine Preparation & Knowledge

• Prepare and handle Ayurvedic formulations including herbal oils, pastes, decoctions, and powders as per classical texts.
• Maintain proper storage, labeling, and hygiene of all medicinal preparations.
• Stay updated on Ayurvedic herbs, their properties (Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipaka), and therapeutic applications.
• Ensure correct dosage and application methods for all medicines and external preparations.

Required Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Ayurveda (BAMS or equivalent certification preferred)
• Hands-on experience in performing Panchakarma and allied therapies
• Good understanding of Tridosha theory and Ayurvedic principles
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to hygiene, detail, and client safety
• Ability to work in a calm, professional, and empathetic manner
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and contraindications of therapies
