Job Description
The Catering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing catering operations for events, ensuring exceptional food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with clients and vendors, controlling budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Key Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand event requirements, budgets, and special requests.
- Plan and coordinate catering services for corporate events, weddings, conferences, and private functions.
- Supervise catering staff before, during, and after events.
- Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and vendors to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Develop event schedules, staffing plans, and logistics.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment.
- Prepare cost estimates, proposals, invoices, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate catering staff.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve operational efficiency.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in catering, hospitality, or event management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and catering operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and catering or event management software.
