EDD- Engine Simuluation

A purpose driven role for you

To support 3D Structural simulation STL, to derive best possible FEA capability characteristics as well as its application within the specific vehicle types and to be able to apply engineering principles, theories, and technical core competencies to ensure various powertrain systems integrated into vehicle applications for both air-cooled, oil cooled and water-cooled product portfolios can be achieved successfully. They must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment to resolve reliability and durability characteristics for the engine & transmission systems to ensure technical problems are anticipated and solved. Determines program objectives, organizes projects, and develops standards and guidelines related to the physical science. Directly interfaces with CFT for problem solving, product improvement and cost reduction issues. Validation of engineering specification design for application within specific vehicle types is required to be understood and applied. Delivery and support of the EDD team to ensure all required systems are delivered in a functional and efficient manner.

A Day in the life

 3D simulation of various engine systems to enable conceptual/definitive understanding of function and capability. This can include; cylinder heads, cylinder blocks/crankcases, valvetrain, rotating & reciprocating systems (crankshaft/connecting rod/piston/bearings), balancing systems, and the ability
to select technology types, and to ensure reliability and durability of systems analyses.
 Knowledge and application capability for standardized toolsets for engine & transmission deliverables. Examples could include, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Optistruct, ADAMS, AVL & Ricardo toolsets.
 Execute all design and validation tasks at highest quality and expertise
 Support building simulation guideline / processes / SOP based on requirements.
 RCA & 8D knowledge and application

Academic Qualification & Experience

M Tech from IIT / IISc

Technical Skills/Knowledge

Experience in 2W / 4W 1D & 3D simulation of thermal & structural
Experienced and capable to apply modern toolsets for delivery of
simulation results. These should include GT-Suite / ANSYS / ABAQUS /
ADAMS / AVL & Ricardo toolsets

Behavioural Skills
