Junior Accountant – Roles & Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting software
• Record daily entries such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
• Generate customer invoices and track outstanding receivables
• Follow up on pending payments and reconcile discrepancies

3. Bank & Ledger Reconciliation

• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and identify inconsistencies
• Assist in resolving accounting discrepancies

4. GST & Tax Compliance (India-specific)

• Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns
• Maintain proper records for input/output tax
• Support in TDS calculations and compliance

5. Financial Reporting Support

• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Provide data for audits and internal reviews
• Support senior accountants in financial analysis

6. Expense Tracking & Cost Control

• Monitor and record company expenses
• Verify bills and vouchers for accuracy
• Help identify cost-saving opportunities

7. Audit & Documentation

• Maintain organized financial records for audits
• Assist during internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

8. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams for financial matters
• Support procurement and operations teams with financial data
• Communicate discrepancies or issues to senior management
• Key Skills Required Basic knowledge of accounting principles
• Familiarity with software like Tally, Google Sheets, or Excel
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication and organizational abilities
