Production Manager

The main responsibility of the Production Manager is to properly manage the factory’s daily production operations, control production delays, handle the labour team, maintain product quality, and ensure orders are completed on time. The objective of this role is to make the company’s production process systematic, reduce wastage, and maintain discipline within the production department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Management

• Plan daily production activities.

• Allocate work according to orders and production requirements.

• Ensure production targets are achieved on time.

• Control and minimize production delays.

• Manage urgent orders based on priority.

2. Labour & Team Management

• Supervise production labour and staff.

• Monitor staff attendance and workplace discipline.

• Maintain work productivity and efficiency.

• Improve team coordination and workflow.

• Handle labour-related operational issues.

3. Quality Control Management

• Monitor printing quality standards.

• Check the quality of box finishing, cutting, lamination, and packing.

• Identify and control defective products.

• Ensure quality verification before dispatch.

4. Wastage Control

• Monitor paper wastage during production.

• Control ink and raw material usage.

• Maintain damage and rejection reports.

• Suggest improvements to reduce production losses and wastage.

5. Inventory & Material Coordination

• Monitor raw material availability.

• Track daily material usage.

• Coordinate warehouse and inventory movement.

• Support stock verification and inventory audits with the accountant.

• Inform management in advance about material shortages.

6. Machine & Production Monitoring

• Supervise machine operators and their work.

• Report machine downtime and production issues.

• Coordinate basic machine maintenance.

• Maintain a smooth production flow.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily production reports.

• Update pending orders reports regularly.

• Maintain wastage and rejection reports.

• Provide regular production updates to management.

8. Process & Discipline Implementation

• Ensure company SOPs and production rules are followed.

• Maintain workplace safety and discipline.

• Ensure the team follows proper work processes and procedures.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of production handling and operations.

• Labour management skills.

• Understanding of printing and packaging processes.

• Basic inventory handling knowledge.

• Basic reporting knowledge.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the offset printing or packaging industry preferred.

• Prior production handling experience preferred.

• Experience in team handling and supervision preferred.
