Role Overview
The Sales Manager will lead and manage the residential solar sales team, ensuring efficient lead conversion, strong field presence, and consistent sales closures.
The role involves team management, field visits, closing high-value deals, and developing Suryamate and channel partner networks to accelerate solar adoption.
The ideal candidate must have experience handling large ticket sales and managing a team of 10–15 sales executives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Target & Closures
- Achieve monthly solar sales targets.
- Close high-value rooftop solar deals.
- Support team members in closing difficult or high-value customers.
- Handle VIP and referral customers personally.
2. Mandatory Field Visits
Sales Manager must maintain a strong field presence.
- Team support visits: Join team members for deal closure visits when required.
Visits include:
- Customer consultations
- Final negotiation meetings
- Referral network meetings
3. Team Management
- Manage a team of 10–15 (tele callers and field sales executives).
- Take ownership of the targets to be achieved, be results oriented
- Monitor daily follow-ups and sales pipeline.
- Conduct daily, monthly, yearly sales review meetings.
- Train the team in solar sales communication and objection handling.
- Ensure no lead remains unattended.
- Regular Monitoring & Analysis, of team’s performance
- Coordination with marketing, team to ensure good results
4. Suryamate & Channel Partner Development
Develop a strong referral and partner network.
The Sales Manager will:
- Recruit and manage Suryamate partners (local influencers, electricians, agents).
- Ensure our clients provide regular referrels
- Build channel partner relationships with businesses and professionals.
- Conduct partner meetings and awareness sessions.
- Ensure regular lead flow from partner networks.
5. Lead Management
- Manage and assign leads generated from WhatsApp, digital campaigns, telecalling, and referrals.
- Ensure timely follow-up and lead tracking.
- Maintain accurate updates in CRM or internal lead management system.
6. Customer Consultation
- Educate customers on:
- Solar system
- Government subsidy (PM Suryaghar Yojana)
- Electricity savings and ROI
- Installation process
- Resolve customer objections professionally.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates with experience in high-value product sales will be preferred.
Preferred industries include:
- Solar or renewable energy
- Banking (Loan / Home loan / Mortgage sales)
- Real Estate
- Automobile dealerships (cars, premium bikes)
- Luxury consumer products
- Building materials (tiles, marble, modular kitchens)
- Electrical equipment
- Industrial equipment sales
Candidates must be comfortable selling high-ticket products (₹2 lakh – or above).
Key Skills Required
- Strong sales leadership and negotiation skills
- Ability to close high-value deals
- Excellent communication and persuasion ability
- Team management capability
- Understanding of solar energy and subsidy schemes
Qualifications
- Graduate in Business / Marketing / Engineering
- MBA or B.tech preferred but not mandatory
Experience
- 3–6+ years of sales experience
- Minimum 2+ years of team management experience
- Experience handling team size of 10–15 members
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Performance will be measured on:
- Monthly solar sales capacity (kW sold)
- Growth of Sales Portfolio
- Team sales performance
- Lead conversion rate
- Number of customer visits
- Partner network development
- Customer satisfaction
Compensation
- Upto ₹50,000 Fixed Salary
