Job Description
- Job Responsibilities:Handle day-to-day transport and logistics operations.
- Arrange and manage trucks for material dispatch and delivery.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities.
- Communicate and follow up with drivers regarding vehicle movement, route status, and delivery schedules.
- Attend customer calls and provide dispatch, transit, and delivery updates.
- Coordinate with transporters, fleet owners, and drivers for vehicle availability.
- Track vehicles and ensure timely pickup and delivery of materials.
- Maintain transport records, delivery challans, e-way bills, invoices, and other logistics documents.
- Ensure proper documentation before dispatch of materials.
- Follow up with customers for unloading status and proof of delivery.
- Resolve transportation issues such as delays, shortages, damages, and vehicle breakdowns.
- Negotiate and finalize freight rates with transporters when required.
- Prepare transport quotations and freight comparisons.
- Coordinate with warehouse, stores, purchase, sales, and accounts departments for smooth operations.
- Monitor loading efficiency and vehicle turnaround time.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and transport regulations.
- Maintain transporter and driver databases with updated contact details.
- Verify freight bills and coordinate with accounts for transporter payments.
- Prepare daily dispatch, vehicle movement, and pending delivery reports.
- Plan vehicle routes to optimize freight costs and delivery timelines.
- Handle urgent dispatches and arrange emergency vehicles when required.
- Build and maintain good relationships with transporters, customers, and drivers.
