Lab Technician

**Job Profile: Lab Technician - Electroplating Department**

**Role Overview:**

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our electroplating department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting and monitoring a variety of laboratory and process tests to ensure the quality and compliance of our electroplating processes. This role is critical in maintaining the high standards of our products and involves working closely with the production team to optimize plating processes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Conduct Laboratory Tests:**

  - Perform Neutral Salt Spray (NSS) testing to evaluate corrosion resistance.

  - Conduct nickel and chrome analysis to ensure plating quality.

  - Measure coating thickness to verify adherence to specifications.

  - Analyze chemical constituents of plating baths, including nickel, sulphate, chloride, and boric acid.

2. **Process Monitoring and Optimization:**

  - Utilize Hull Cell testing to optimize bath conditions and plating processes.

  - Support nickel recovery processes to maintain efficient use of resources.

  - Monitor and adjust plating parameters to ensure consistent quality and compliance with industry standards.

3. **Quality Assurance:**

  - Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any discrepancies or issues in plating quality.

  - Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.

  - Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.

4. **Safety and Compliance:**

  - Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

  - Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to chemical handling and disposal.

**Qualifications:**

- **Education:** 

 - Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (B.Tech or B.Sc.) or a related field.

- **Experience:**

 - Previous experience in a laboratory or electroplating environment is preferred but not mandatory.

- **Technical Skills:**

 - Strong understanding of electroplating processes and chemical analysis.

 - Proficient in using laboratory equipment for testing and analysis.

 - Knowledge of acid testing and Hull Cell testing techniques.
