Fire Alarm Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems including panels, detectors, devices, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults or failures in fire alarm systems.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
• Program and configure fire alarm panels as per manufacturer’s specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and fire code standards.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), local codes, and company policies.
• Complete service reports, inspection records, and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding system issues and solutions.
• Assist with the design or redesign of fire alarm systems as needed.
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside of normal working hours (on-call duties as assigned).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or certification in electronics or fire alarm systems preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in fire alarm installation, service, or inspection.
• NICET certification (Level I, II, or higher) preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, fire alarm codes, and industry standards.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and blueprints.

Fresher / 1–3 years / Senior level (customize as needed)

Working Conditions:

• Work involves climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
• May require lifting heavy equipment or tools.
• Occasional travel to different job sites or customer locations.
