VMC Machine Operator

CNC / VMC / HMC Machine Operator – Pointwise JD

1. Operate CNC/VMC/HMC Machines to produce precision components as per drawings.
2. Set up machines including job loading, fixture alignment, tool loading, and program selection.
3. Read and interpret engineering drawings with understanding of GD&T and tolerances.
4. Handle CNC programs including work offsets, tool offsets, and basic G‑code/M‑code edits.
5. Monitor machining parameters such as feeds, speeds, depth of cut, and tool life.
6. Inspect components using Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, etc.
7. Maintain production documentation including inspection reports, tool change logs, and daily production sheets.
8. Perform basic preventive maintenance such as lubrication, coolant checks, and cleaning.
9. Ensure safety compliance with PPE usage and machine‑shop safety rules.
10. Identify machining defects and assist in troubleshooting issues like chatter, taper, tool marks, etc.
11. Support continuous improvement in cycle time, tool life, and process stability.
12. Maintain discipline, accuracy, and quality focus during all machining operations.
13. Qualification: ITI/Diploma in Machinist/Fitter/Tool & Die or equivalent.
14. Experience: 1–5 years preferred; trainees may be considered.
