Job Description

A Travel Consultant plans, books, and manages personalized trips for clients, handling flights, hotels, activities, and transport, while providing destination expertise and ensuring smooth travel by managing documents and resolving issues, requiring strong customer service, research, and booking system skills to tailor experiences and maintain client satisfaction. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Client Consultation: Understand client needs, budget, and preferences through detailed discussions. 
  • Itinerary Creation: Design customized travel itineraries, including destinations, activities, and dining. 
  • Booking & Reservations: Book flights, accommodations, car rentals, tours, and other services using Global Distribution Systems (GDS). 
  • Information & Advice: Provide expert knowledge on destinations, local customs, weather, visa/passport requirements, and health precautions. 
  • Document Management: Secure necessary documents and inform clients about travel regulations. 
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve travel-related problems, complaints, or emergencies. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on travel trends, promotions, and industry news. 
  • Sales & Promotion: Upsell travel insurance, packages, and promote deals. 
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate client records, payments, and booking details. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Customer Service: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Organizational Skills: Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and manage multiple bookings. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with travel booking software, GDS, and CRM systems. 
  • Research Skills: Ability to research destinations, deals, and regulations effectively. 
  • Education: High school diploma; a degree in hospitality or tourism is often preferred. 
  • Languages: Multilingual skills are a plus for international roles.
