About Save Medha Foundation
Save Medha Foundation is a social welfare organization dedicated to supporting patients, creating health awareness, and helping underprivileged communities through structured healthcare and social development initiatives. We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, compliance, reporting, and day-to-day accounts operations.
Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling daily accounting entries, preparing reports, managing vouchers and bills, supporting statutory compliance, and ensuring transparent financial management for the foundation’s activities, donations, projects, and administrative expenses.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain day-to-day accounts, ledgers, cash book, bank book, and journal entries.
- Record all income, donations, project expenses, vendor payments, salary payments, and administrative costs.
- Prepare and maintain vouchers, bills, receipts, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Ensure proper filing of financial documents for audit and internal review.
Bank & Cash Management
- Handle bank reconciliation statements on a regular basis.
- Track cash transactions and ensure proper cash flow records.
- Maintain petty cash and submit regular petty cash reports.
- Monitor deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and payment records.
Donation & Fund Records
- Maintain accurate records of donations, grants, CSR funds, and project-based funding.
- Issue donation receipts as per organizational policy.
- Track donor-wise and project-wise fund utilization.
- Support preparation of utilization reports for donors, CSR partners, and management.
Compliance & Taxation Support
- Assist in GST, TDS, Income Tax, professional tax, PF/ESI, and other statutory compliance if applicable.
- Coordinate with CA/auditor for annual audit, balance sheet, income-expenditure statement, and tax filings.
- Maintain documents required for NGO compliance, including 12A, 80G, CSR-related records, FCRA records if applicable, and other statutory reports.
- Ensure all transactions follow legal and organizational compliance requirements.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly financial statements, income-expense reports, project-wise expense reports, and budget vs actual reports.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding fund position, pending payments, and financial requirements.
- Support preparation of annual reports and financial summaries for trustees/management.
Vendor & Payment Management
- Verify vendor bills, invoices, and payment requests.
- Maintain vendor payment records and outstanding payable details.
- Ensure payments are processed with proper approval and documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Good understanding of NGO accounting and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, Google Sheets, and basic accounting software.
- Ability to prepare financial reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and audit coordination.
- Strong attention to detail, honesty, confidentiality, and responsibility.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA Inter / equivalent finance-related qualification.
- Minimum 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in NGO, trust, foundation, healthcare, CSR, or social sector accounting will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- NGO accounting and donor fund management.
- Project-wise accounting and utilization certificate preparation.
- Coordination with CA, auditor, and compliance consultants.
- Handling cash, bank, vouchers, bills, and project expense documentation.
