Job SummaryBijay Pustak Bhandar Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a sincere, honest, and detail-oriented Cashier to manage daily cash transactions and support the smooth functioning of our bookstore. The candidate will be responsible for handling customer payments, maintaining accurate cash records, coordinating with the billing team, and ensuring proper accounting of all receipts and collections.

• Key ResponsibilitiesCash HandlingReceive cash, UPI, card, cheque, and other payment modes from customers.
• Verify payment amounts before issuing receipts.
• Ensure accurate collection of payments against invoices and cash memos.
• Handle refunds, advances, and adjustments as per company policy.
• Maintain proper custody of cash throughout the day.
• Billing & Customer ServiceCoordinate with the billing team for smooth customer transactions.
• Issue money receipts and payment acknowledgements.
• Assist customers with payment-related queries.
• Maintain a courteous and professional approach while dealing with customers.
• Daily Cash ManagementPrepare daily cash reports and cash summaries.
• Count and reconcile cash at the beginning and end of each working day.
• Identify and report any cash shortages or excess immediately.
• Maintain accurate records of daily collections.
• Banking & Accounts SupportPrepare cash for bank deposits.
• Coordinate with the accounts department for daily reconciliation.
• Maintain records of deposits, receipts, and payment vouchers.
• Assist in basic accounting and documentation work whenever required.
• Documentation & Record KeepingMaintain proper filing of cash memos, money receipts, bank deposit slips, and related documents.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and documented.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Software & Computer WorkOperate billing and accounting software efficiently.
• Enter payment details accurately into the system.
• Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Send basic email communications when required.
• Operational SupportCoordinate with billing, accounts, store, and management teams.
• Assist during peak admission and book sale seasons.
• Support stock verification and customer service activities whenever required.
• Perform other cashier and administrative duties assigned by management.
• Required SkillsStrong numerical and calculation skills.
• High level of honesty, integrity, and responsibility.
• Accuracy in handling cash and financial transactions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Email.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Preferred QualificationsCommerce background preferred.
• Knowledge of Busy Accounting Software will be an added advantage.
• Prior experience as a Cashier, Accounts Assistant, Billing Executive, or Retail Cashier preferred.
