Synaptic Detritus Scientific Industries specializes in the design and manufacturing of high-precision laboratory instruments specifically engineered for Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) laboratories in the metal and metallurgical industries. Our products empower steel plants, foundries, forge shops, and material testing facilities across India to maintain rigorous quality standards.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically sound Technical Associate (Production & Field Operations) from an Electrical or Mechanical ITI background. This role offers a dynamic mix of shop-floor production oversight, local vendor coordination in Kolkata, and field-level installation/servicing at client sites across Eastern India (Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh).
The ideal candidate must possess strong practical domain knowledge, basic computer literacy for documentation, and the ability to interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Assembly Support (Factory Level)
- Assist in the assembly, wiring, mechanical integration, and preliminary testing of laboratory testing instruments.
- Conduct in-factory quality checks and calibration of equipment prior to dispatch.
- Maintain organized production logs, testing checklists, and component inventories using computer software.
2. Local Vendor Coordination (Kolkata Region)
- Visit local vendors, machine shops, and component suppliers across Kolkata for material sourcing, component inspection, and job-work tracking.
- Ensure vendor deliveries meet required dimensional tolerances and electrical specifications.
3. Field Operations & Site Support (Regional Travel)
- Travel to client manufacturing facilities and QA labs across Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh for equipment installation, commissioning, demonstration, and routine servicing/troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with plant QA personnel and site engineers during commissioning.
- Collect customer feedback and prepare comprehensive Service/Site Visit Reports.
4. Technical Documentation & Office Tasks
- Maintain digital and physical files for customer support queries, service logs, and dispatch documentation.
- Prepare basic technical reports, service entry sheets, and stock lists using MS Word and MS Excel.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Education : ITI pass-out in Electrical or Mechanical trade (NCVT / SCVT recognized).
Experience : 0–3 years of hands-on experience in instrument assembly, panel wiring, mechanical fabrication, or field service (Freshers with strong practical skills are
welcome to apply).
Travel Readiness : High willingness to travel on short notice across Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh for site assignments.
Computer Skills : Functional operating knowledge of Windows OS, MS Word (for report generation), and MS Excel (for data entries and inventory tracking).
Preferred Technical Skills : Ability to read and understand manual machine engineering drawings, mechanical assembly layouts, and electrical circuit schematics.
Desired Competencies
- Practical Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose basic electrical wiring issues and mechanical assembly misalignments on-site.
- Communication Skills: Professional demeanour when interacting with local Kolkata suppliers and industrial client representatives in metallurgical QA labs.
- Adaptability: Comfortable transitioning between a factory/office environment, vendor workshops, and heavy industrial plant sites.
Working Conditions & Remuneration
- Base Location: Kolkata (Factory/Office visits required).
- Travel Allowance: All official travel, lodging, and daily allowances (DA) for outstation site visits will be fully covered as per company policy.
- Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, technical hands-on capability, and prior experience.
