Purchase & Logistics Manager

Role ObjectiveSundarban Chemicals is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchase & Logistics Manager to oversee our end-to-end supply chain. You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality raw materials for water treatment solutions, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the seamless movement of finished goods from our manufacturing facility to our clients.

• Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

• Raw Material Sourcing: Procure chemicals, components, and equipment specific to water treatment
• Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers. Maintain a robust vendor database and conduct annual performance audits.
• Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules to optimize the company’s bottom line without compromising quality.
• Market Analysis: Stay updated on global and local price trends of raw chemicals and raw materials.

2. Logistics & Supply Chain OperationsDispatch Coordination: Manage the outbound logistics of chemical products, ensuring compliance with safety standards for transporting hazardous or sensitive materials.

• Freight Management: Liaise with transporters and freight forwarders to secure competitive rates and ensure timely delivery.
• Documentation: Handle all logistics documentation, including E-Way bills, Delivery Challans, Gate Passes, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).

3. Inventory & Warehouse Oversight

• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels to prevent stock-outs or overstocking using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods.
• Coordination: Work closely with the Production and Quality Control departments to align procurement schedules with manufacturing targets.
• Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (B.Sc. Chemistry or Chemical Engineering background is a plus).
• Experience: 2–3 years of core experience in procurement and logistics, specifically within a manufacturing setup or water treatment industry.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of ERP software (SAP, Tally, or similar) and MS Excel.
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with GST regulations, E-Way bill generation, and safety protocols for chemical handling.
