Job Description

Role overview

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for all walk-in customers, vendors, and visitors at M L Roy and Co Sanitations Ltd. This role is responsible for creating a warm and professional first impression, managing front-desk operations, channelling enquiries to the right departments, and providing general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the showroom and office.



Key responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet walk-in customers, visitors and vendors warmly and professionally
  • Manage the front desk and ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable at all times
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls; take and relay messages accurately
  • Register walk-in customers and direct them to the appropriate sales officer
  • Maintain a daily visitor log and customer enquiry register
  • Handle basic product enquiries and provide general showroom information
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments for the sales team and management
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence — letters, courier, emails
  • Assist in maintaining office records, files and documentation
  • Coordinate with the accounts and sales teams for order-related follow-ups
  • Handle basic customer complaints at the front desk and escalate promptly
  • Support management with clerical and administrative tasks as required
  • Monitor office supplies inventory and raise indent for replenishment
  • Assist in preparation of basic MIS reports and data entry as needed
  • Manage on spot billing

Required skills

               

  • Pleasant personality with excellent spoken communication in Bengali, Hindi and English
  • Professional telephone etiquette and front-desk manners
  • Strong organisational and multitasking ability
  • Proficiency in MS Office — Word, Excel, and basic email handling
  • Knowledge of Tally is mandatory
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under busy showroom conditions
  • Attention to detail in maintaining records and registers
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
