The opportunity

EY GDS is looking for a motivated, result oriented and quality focused experienced and skilled Insurance Gen AI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) Manager to join AI team. As a Gen AI Manager within Insurance domain, the candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering Gen AI solutions for our insurance clients across various domains such as marketing/sales, underwriting, claims, pricing, fraud, etc. The candidate will lead our Gen AI initiative within the insurance domain.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of Gen AI/AI strategies specifically tailored to the Insurance industry.
• A Manager and a thought leader having good business understanding, capable of translating business requirement into GenAI/AI and/or advance analytics problem.
• Champion and oversee the successful integration of Gen AI tools and solutions into existing workflows and processes.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs and objectives, partner with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and underwriters to identify and prioritize high-impact use cases for Gen AI applications.
• Oversee the development, training and deployment of Gen AI models for tasks within the insurance domain, such as policy generation, claims processing, fraud detection etc.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical considerations when utilizing Gen AI technologies.
• Get involved in business development, client engagement, proposal writing and presentation of the solutions to senior stakeholders and clients.
• Contribute to the growth of the Gen AI ecosystem within the company by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and internal awareness.
• Stay up to date on the latest advancements and trends in Gen AI and apply them to relevant insurance applications.
• Present and communicate the results and insights of the solutions to clients and stakeholders in a clear and effective manner.
• Manage a team of Gen AI specialists and provide direction and guidance on project execution.
• Provide thought leadership and guidance on best practices and methodologies for Insurance.
• Mentor and coach junior analysts and developers on the team

Skills and Attributes:

Professional Experience

• Over 10 years of experience in AI and advanced analytics, including more than 5 years specializing in insurance analytics, with a strong track record of building and deploying analytical solutions

Educational Background

• Bachelors / master’s degree in data science, AI, Gen AI, or AI/ML. Engineering or quantitative background - preferred

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Generative AI and Solution design concepts and methodologies like RAG, Agentic AI, LLM finetuning. Strong expertise in the application of AI techniques, such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.
• Strong understanding of the insurance industry, including underwriting and claims processes of various insurance products, and familiar with the specific problem areas.
• High expertise in Python and next generation technologies such as cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), big data, AI/ML, etc.
• Experience in using LLM models on cloud platforms i.e. OpenAI @ Azure/ AWS Bedrock/ GCP Vertex AI.
• Proficient in programming languages relevant to Gen AI (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience in Agentic frameworks building and deploying (e.g. Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, LangGraph etc.)
• Experience with data preprocessing techniques for AI models and understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms
• Understanding of end-to-end product development lifecycle in different environments such as dev, QA, and production.
• Git version control and Agile development experience.

Soft Skills

• Ability to manage clients and stakeholders effectively and build strong relationships.
• Ability to translate business problem into analytics problem and vice versa.
• Excellent presentation and consulting skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end to end project delivery- scoping, solutioning, designing, developing, testing, deploying or maintaining.
• Ensuring the solutions meet the client requirements and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with the clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project.
• Identify new opportunities and generate proposals for potential clients.
• Present the solutions and showcase the value proposition to senior stakeholders.
