Site Civil Engineer

Job Title: Site Civil EngineerDepartment: Construction / Engineering The Site Civil Engineer oversees daily construction operations, coordinates with contractors and subcontractors, ensures compliance with project specifications, and maintains quality and safety standards throughout the construction process.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day construction activities on site.Interpret and implement engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to project schedules.Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.Ensure work complies with quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.Inspect materials and workmanship to maintain quality control.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.Measure quantities and verify completed work for billing purposes.Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during construction.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.Conduct site inspections and maintain construction records.Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and cost control.Monitor material usage and minimize waste.Participate in project meetings and provide technical support.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.2–5 years of experience in site construction (experience requirements may vary by role).Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering standards.Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and project management software.Required SkillsStrong technical and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Leadership and team management skills.Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Time management and organizational skills.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.Attention to detail and commitment to quality.Working ConditionsPrimarily field-based at construction sites.May require working extended hours to meet project deadlines.Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction environments.Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.Preferred Certifications (Optional)OSHA or Construction Safety Certification.AutoCAD Certification.Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project knowledge.Quantity Surveying and Quality Control certifications (preferred).This job description can be tailored for sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, highways, bridges, or infrastructure projects.
