Job Description
Position: Staff Nurse
Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing/M.Sc. Nursing
Department: Nursing Services
Reports To: Nursing In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients as per doctor's orders and hospital protocols.
- Assess, monitor, and record patient vital signs, clinical condition, and progress.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, emergencies, and surgeries.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, patient charts, and documentation.
- Ensure proper infection control practices, biomedical waste management, and patient safety measures.
- Provide bedside nursing care including hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and patient positioning.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment, medications, diet, and discharge instructions.
- Prepare and maintain nursing equipment, emergency crash carts, and consumables.
- Coordinate with doctors, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments for patient care.
- Handle emergency situations such as CPR, Code Blue, trauma, and critical patient management.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital records.
- Receive and hand over duties properly during shift changes.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of patient care areas and nursing stations.
- Participate in training programs, quality initiatives, NABH standards, and hospital audits.
