The GT Sales Executive is responsible for driving primary and secondary sales through the general trade channel (kirana stores, wholesalers, distributors, and independent retail outlets) within an assigned geography. The role focuses on expanding market reach, building strong retailer relationships, ensuring product availability and visibility, and achieving monthly/quarterly sales targets.
- Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory
- Manage and grow relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail outlets
- Ensure optimum product availability, visibility, and shelf placement at outlets
- Execute daily beat plans and cover all assigned outlets as per journey cycle
- Onboard new retail outlets and expand distribution reach (numeric distribution)
- Monitor stock levels at distributor points and ensure timely replenishment
- Implement trade promotions, schemes, and merchandising activities at the outlet level
- Collect market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing, and new product launches
- Ensure timely collection of payments and resolve outstanding dues with distributors
- Maintain accurate records of sales, orders, and outlet data (DSR, TSR reporting)
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of stock
- Handle retailer/distributor grievances and ensure quick resolution
- Support in organizing trade activation events, sampling, and promotional campaigns
- Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Good negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Result-oriented with a target-driven mindset
- Strong local market knowledge and willingness to travel extensively within the territory
- Effective communication skills (local language proficiency preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid two-wheeler license and own vehicle preferred (for field travel)
- Outlet coverage and beat plan adherence
- New outlet additions
- Timely collections and reduction in outstanding payments
- Market share growth in assigned territory
