Solar Energy Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning

• Install solar PV modules, mounting structures, inverters, ACDB/DCDB, earthing and lightning arrestors as per approved drawings.
• Carry out DC and AC cabling, string termination, MC4 crimping, cable laying, dressing and glanding.
• Support commissioning activities including string testing, IV curve/Voc–Isc checks, insulation resistance testing and earth resistance measurement.

Operations & Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance: module cleaning supervision, torque checks, thermal inspection, connector and junction box checks.
• Attend breakdown calls — fault identification and rectification in modules, inverters, cables, SPDs, fuses and monitoring devices.
• Execute replacement of defective solar PV modules (including 250 Wp / 330 Wp class panels) and associated BOS items.
• Monitor generation data, log daily readings, and report deviations in performance ratio or string output.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain daily site reports, checklists, service reports, spares consumption records and job completion certificates.
• Follow site safety rules including work permits, PPE usage, LOTO (lock-out/tag-out), and working-at-height norms.
• Coordinate with the client's site representative, safety department and the Suryaday project team.
• Required QualificationsITI (NCVT/SCVT) in Electrician / Wireman / Electronics Mechanic / Solar Technician trade.
• 1–5 years of hands-on experience in solar PV installation or O&M (industrial or rooftop plants preferred).
• Ability to read single-line diagrams (SLD), layout drawings and electrical schematics.
• Working knowledge of multimeter, clamp meter, megger, earth tester, torque wrench and crimping tools.
• Understanding of DC/AC electrical safety, earthing, and basic inverter operation and fault codes.
• Physically fit for work at height and outdoor site conditions.
• Preferred (Added Advantage)Suryamitra / SCGJ / NISE certification.
• Prior experience working at a refinery, PSU or heavy-industrial site with permit-to-work systems.
• Safety certifications — work at height, first aid, fire safety.
• Basic reading knowledge of English; conversational Hindi essential.
• Valid two-wheeler licence.
