Job Description
A Brazer is responsible for joining metal components together through a process of heating and melting. They use hand-held tools such as torches and electric furnaces and must be knowledgeable in a variety of brazing techniques and metals. They must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams and have a good eye for detail. Brazers must have good manual dexterity and an understanding of physics, chemistry, and mathematics. They must also be able to work safely and follow all safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare brazing material and equipment
• Assemble components and brazing parts
• Ensure quality of brazed components
• Maintain and repair brazing equipment
• Inspect and test brazed parts
Qualifications & Skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to use appropriate brazing and soldering equipment
• Knowledge of metallurgy and heat-treating
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• High level of attention to detail
