Packing Material Store Manager/Executive

Job Summary

The Packing Material Store Manager is responsible for the receipt, storage, inventory control, issuance, and stock management of all packing materials required for production and dispatch operations. The role ensures uninterrupted material availability, accurate inventory records, compliance with company procedures, and efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Management
• Maintain optimum stock levels of packing materials.
• Monitor inventory movement and consumption trends.
• Conduct regular stock verification and cycle counts.
• Reconcile physical stock with ERP/system records.
• Identify slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
• Store Operations Supervise receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance of packing materials.
• Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage or deterioration.
• Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices where applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all transactions.
• Material Planning & CoordinationCoordinate with procurement and production departments regarding material requirements.
• Ensure timely availability of packing materials for manufacturing and dispatch.
• Raise purchase requisitions based on reorder levels and consumption patterns.
• Team Management Lead and supervise storekeepers, warehouse assistants, and contract labour.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance.
• Train staff on inventory control, safety procedures, and warehouse best practices.
• ERP & Documentation Update inventory transactions in ERP/WMS systems.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
• Maintain GRNs, issue slips, stock registers, and audit records.
• Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with warehouse safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the store area.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure adherence to ISO, GMP, HACCP, or other applicable standards.
• Cost ControlMinimize inventory losses, damages, and wastage.
• Monitor inventory carrying costs.
• Improve warehouse utilization and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
• Diploma/Certification in Materials Management or Warehouse Management preferred.
• Experience 1-5 years of experience in stores, warehouse, or inventory management.
• Experience handling packing materials in manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, food processing, or industrial sectors preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems
