Role

We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Shared Platform Services team. This is a hybrid role based in Mohali / Hyderabad/ Bangalore/ , reporting to the Sr. Manager Software Engineering. Our Engineering team built the world's largest cloud security platform from the ground up, and we continue to scale. With more than 100 patents and extensive plans for enhancing services, our multitenant architecture has established us as the cloud security leader for over 15 million users worldwide. What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of large-scale, complex features for the Zscaler Client Connector Cloud Service, driving key technical initiatives from initial concept to final execution.
• Take full accountability for core product functionality, ensuring high performance, scalability, and seamless integration within the cloud ecosystem.
• Partner closely with Product Management, Development, and Cloud Operations teams to align on product vision and ensure a smooth, synchronized release lifecycle.
• Define robust deployment procedures and implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the long-term stability and health of new features.
• Champion product excellence by troubleshooting critical customer issues and delivering high-quality, resilient code within a fast-paced, high-velocity environment.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 5 years of hands-on experience specifically in developing web applications and microservices.
• Deep proficiency in Enterprise Java, Object-Oriented Analysis/Programming (OOA/OOP), and RESTful API architecture.
• Practical experience with RDBMS, specifically being "fluent" in SQL programming and writing Stored Procedures.
• Security Literacy: A solid understanding of Security, Authentication/Authorization, and encryption best practices.
• Experience in application development using Java, REST APIs, MySQL, and JQuery

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a strictly related discipline.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills using CPU and memory profilers to identify resource exhaustion issues
• Ability to write complex MySQL queries and generate reports based on business requirements
