AutoCAD Draughtsman

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled AutoCAD Draftsman to support our civil and fabrication projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate shopfloor drawings, generating detailed fabrication layouts, and calculating Bills of Quantities (BoQ). This role requires strong technical drafting skills, knowledge of fabrication processes, and the ability to work closely with engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop precise shopfloor drawings for civil and fabrication works using AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed fabrication layouts, assembly drawings, and part lists.
• Calculate Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for materials, components, and fabrication requirements.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design inputs into accurate technical drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on project changes or client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company drafting practices.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and production teams to clarify design details.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and BoQ documentation.
• Support project planning by providing accurate material take-offs and fabrication details.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of other drafting/modeling software is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, civil construction practices, and material specifications.
• Experience in preparing shopfloor drawings and BoQ calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, structural layouts, and fabrication details.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., Tekla, SolidWorks, Revit) is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry standards for steel fabrication and civil works.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
