Kitchen Helper

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables and meats. Measure ingredients and help chefs plate dishes during peak service hours.
• Cleaning and Sanitization: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand. Mop floors, sanitize countertops, and clean garbage cans to maintain health codes.
• Stock Management: Unload delivery trucks, check received items for quality, and organize dry goods and walk-in refrigerators following safety standards.
• Waste Disposal: Empty and line trash and recycling bins throughout the shift.
• General Support: Pack takeout orders, clear tables when needed, and assist with daily kitchen opening and closing checklists.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long periods and lift or carry heavy items (typically up to 50 pounds / 23 kg).
• Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with or willingness to learn food safety regulations, safe knife handling, and chemical cleaning supplies.
• Teamwork: Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Education: No formal education is generally required, though a high school diploma, GED, and a valid Food Handler’s permit are commonly preferred.
