Fire Alarm Technician

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems and related equipment.
2. Perform routine preventive maintenance of fire alarm panels, detectors, manual call points, and notification devices.
3. Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire alarm systems.
4. Conduct periodic testing of fire alarm systems and document results.
5. Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
6. Inspect smoke detectors, heat detectors, beam detectors, and other fire detection devices.
7. Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before failures occur.
8. Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs.
9. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities when required.
10. Assist in fire drills and emergency response activities.
11. Verify proper functioning of emergency communication and notification systems.
12. Ensure all fire alarm panels and devices are correctly labeled and accessible.
13. Prepare maintenance reports and recommend corrective actions.
14. Respond promptly to fire alarm system breakdowns and emergency calls.
15. Support the installation and commissioning of new fire alarm systems.
16. Follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures while performing maintenance work.
17. Train employees on the basic operation of fire alarm systems when required.
18. Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools related to fire alarm systems.
19. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with statutory and insurance requirements.
20. Perform other fire and safety-related duties assigned by management.
