Job Description

The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services required by the organization. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, quality compliance, and strong supplier relationships while maintaining inventory levels and supporting business operations.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement ManagementDevelop and implement purchasing strategies and policies.
  • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms.
  • Process purchase orders and monitor order fulfillment.
  • Supplier Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
  • Identify alternative vendors to reduce supply risks.
  • Cost Control & Budget ManagementAnalyze market trends and pricing fluctuations.
  • Achieve cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
  • Monitor procurement budgets and spending.
  • Inventory & Supply PlanningCoordinate with warehouse and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and reorder points.
  • Quality & ComplianceEnsure purchased materials meet company quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve supplier quality issues and delivery discrepancies.
  • Reporting & DocumentationPrepare procurement reports, purchase analyses, and supplier evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and contracts.

Track key procurement KPIs such as cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance.
