Background of the Role :

Tata Capital is one of the leading NBFCs in India, with an asset base of over Rs. 85,000 crores. 

Tata Capital’s Commercial Finance Department caters to all segments of corporate customers: 

1.    Large and Mid-Corporates 
2.    Emerging Corporates and SMEs 
3.    Supply chain customers (dealers and distributors) 
4.    Government companies 
5.    Contractors and equipment operators 

Corporate Finance Department’s business and customers are spread across Manufacturing, Services, IT, Financial Services and Trading sectors. Across the customer segments, there are product offerings that go beyond the conventional banking product offerings. Commercial Finance Business has a current lending portfolio of over Rs. 34,000 crores. 

The Emerging Corporate and SMEs business caters to companies with turnover of up to Rs. 500 crores. The business is spread across ~30 locations in India through direct presence in Tier-1 and Tier-2 locations. 

We intend to accelerate the growth of Emerging Corporate and SMEs business by taking initiatives like: 

1.    Applying data science techniques to identify new customers 
2.    Widening the base of sourcing partners across India 
3.    Cross sell with existing branch network of Tata Capital’s Retail businesses 
4.    Identifying alternate credit algorithms, compared to traditional financial statements-based lending parameters 
5.    Identifying credit-strong co-lending opportunities, entering and executing such co-lending agreements 

Major Deliverables

We are looking for an experienced professional to drive the above initiatives within Emerging Corporate and SME Business. S/he will have the following main responsibilities, among others: 

1.    Data based Sourcing 
a.    Identifying sources of data and working with Data Science team to generate business leads 
b.    Identifying newer methods to appraise credit worthiness of potential client 

2.    Widening sourcing base 
a.    Empaneling more sourcing partners pan-India 
b.    Developing high-impact cross-sell relationships with Retail business teams with Tata Capital 

3.    Partnerships 
a.    Identifying and executing the appropriate co-lending partnerships with Fintechs and other NBFCs and Banks 

4.    Process Improvements 
a.    Identifying gaps in customer facing processes and transforming them to best-in-class standards 

5.    Management of critical deals  
a.    Assisting Business Head in some high impact / critical transactions

Essential Attributes 

1.    Strong knowledge of credit 
2.    Strong technology and finance background 
3.    Experience in similar role for minimum 4-5 years

Desirable Attributes 

1.    Interest in financial markets / services for a long term  
2.    High degree of digital and commercial acumen 
3.    Hard working and ability to manage multiple deliverables amidst tight deadlines

Qualifications : 

Graduation: B.Com, B. Tech, B.E (Computer Science)

Post-Graduation: CA, MBA (Finance Specialization)
