Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director (Electrical Design) to join our organization in Mumbai, India. In this leadership role, you will oversee the electrical design function, driving technical excellence while mentoring a team of design engineers. You will be responsible for managing complex electrical design projects, ensuring compliance with Indian electrical standards and international best practices, and contributing to strategic initiatives that shape our engineering capabilities.

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical design engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
  • Oversee the design, analysis, and documentation of electrical systems for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant Indian electrical codes (IS codes), CEA regulations, and international standards
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation while maintaining quality standards
  • Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks on design deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including civil, mechanical, and project management to integrate electrical systems effectively
  • Develop and implement design standards, best practices, and process improvements within the electrical design department
  • Utilize electrical design software and tools (CAD, ETAP, load flow analysis tools) to create comprehensive design solutions
  • Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and client presentations
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates in electrical design
  • Contribute to business development by supporting proposal preparation and client engagement

Qualifications

  • 18+ years of professional experience in electrical design, with a focus on power systems, distribution networks, or industrial electrical systems
  • 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Advanced proficiency with electrical design software including CAD platforms, ETAP, load flow analysis tools, and related applications
  • Strong knowledge of Indian electrical standards (IS codes), CEA regulations, and international electrical codes
  • Expertise in power distribution systems, electrical infrastructure design, and building electrical systems
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from concept through completion
  • Professional certification in electrical engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Experience with renewable energy systems or smart grid technologies (preferred)
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainable design practices (preferred)
