Project Role : Data Centre OperatorProject Role Description : Manage day-to-day activities of a data center, including physical and security checks, physical tape/media management, assistance with physical vendor intervention (e.g. replacement of a part), act as "remote hands" for the administrator.

Summary:
As a Data Centre Operator, a typical day involves overseeing the routine operations within a data center environment. This includes conducting thorough physical inspections and security verifications to ensure the facility's integrity. The role requires managing physical media such as tapes and other storage devices, coordinating with vendors for hardware replacements or repairs, and providing remote support to system administrators by acting as their hands on-site. The position demands vigilance, coordination, and responsiveness to maintain smooth and secure data center functionality throughout the day.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Monitor and report on the physical condition and security status of the data center regularly.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to facilitate timely hardware maintenance and replacements.
- Maintain accurate records of physical media handling and storage activities.
- Assist junior team members in understanding operational procedures and best practices.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Service Desk ID Administration.
- Strong knowledge of data center operational procedures and physical security protocols.
- Ability to manage and track physical media such as tapes and storage devices effectively.
- Experience in coordinating vendor interventions and hardware replacements.
- Good organizational skills to maintain detailed logs and documentation.
- Capability to provide remote support and act as an extension of the system administrator.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Service Desk ID Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
