Lead Operational capex

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Capex Planning & Management

• Lead and manage operational CAPEX projects related to MEP, civil, systems, utility upgrades, refurbishments, and asset replacement works.
• Ensure alignment of projects with airport operational requirements, safety, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset strategy.

2. Procurement & Contract Management

• Prepare technical input for PRs, tenders, and contracts.
• Carry out technical evaluation of bidders and support vendor selection.
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, and legal teams for contract finalization.

3. Project Execution & Site Management

• Oversee on-site execution ensuring safety, quality, and continuity of airport operations.
• Monitor progress against schedule and budget, resolve site constraints, and ensure timely completion.
• Conduct and lead coordination meetings with stakeholders and contractors.

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Manage contractors and consultants during mobilization, execution, and demobilization.

and access approvals.

• Coordinate with airport operations, safety, security, finance, IT, IE and external agencies.
• Ensure availability of work permits, safety clearances, and operational approvals.

5. Documentation, Billing & Financial Closure

• Review and approve measurement sheets, service entry sheets, and contractor bills.
• Ensure timely certification, documentation, and coordination with finance for payments and capitalization.
• Maintain complete audit-ready project documentation.

6. Project Closure & HOTO

• Lead handing over and taking over (HOTO) of completed Opex projects to E&M.
• Ensure submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and completion certificates.
• Achieve smooth technical and financial project closure.

7. Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with airport safety standards, statutory norms, and quality systems.
• Promote a strong safety culture and risk management practices within project teams.
• Ensure availability of critical spares at optimal levels, where applicable.

 8. Bifurcation in Project, Operational Capex and E&M on Capex

• Asset head (CAO) may shift execution from one team to another as per skill, time, urgency of the project.

Qualifications

Reporting structure: - 

• Lead - Operational Capex will administratively report into Asset Infra Head. 
• Role must maintain close coordination with E&M Head.
