Job Description

Manager - Projects

Responsibilities

  • A. Field Development Plan (FDP) & Regulatory Compliance
  • Support with details for the Field Development Plan to the Government of India and DGH.
  • Coordinate responses to MoPNG / DGH queries, presentations, and documentation.
  • Track FDP approval timelines, risk areas, and compliance deliverables.
  • Assist in regulatory submissions: OISD approvals, Environmental Clearance, CRZ, PCB consents, land/RoW permissions, petroleum & safety approvals.
  • B. Engineering Coordination (FEED & Detailed Engineering)
  • Coordinate with engineering consultants for FEED, detailed engineering, and design deliverables for:
  • Flowlines & pipelines
  • Onshore/offshore facilities
  • Well site construction
  • Early production facilities
  • Tie-ins, utilities, and interconnecting systems
  • Drive design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, constructability reviews, 3D model reviews.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet AWEL specs, industry codes (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO), and statutory requirements.
  • C. EPC/EPCM Management
  • Assist with preparation of EPC/EPCM tender packages, scope of work, specifications, and evaluation criteria.
  • Support technical and commercial evaluation (TBE/CBE) of bids.
  • Track contractor deliverables, schedules, manpower plans, and interface requirements.
  • Review contractor drawings, MRs, QAPs, ITPs, and execution methodology.
  • D. Project Execution & Site Coordination
  • Support construction and installation of pipelines, offshore well developments , surface facilities, and early production systems.
  • Coordinate with offshore site teams, drilling groups, and operations to ensure smooth interface and sequencing.
  • Track workfront availability, progress curves, material availability, and contractor productivity.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and readiness for first production (RFP).
  • E. Schedule, Cost & Risk Control
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules (L1–L4), S-curves, cost trackers, and project KPIs.
  • Monitor costs versus AFE and immediately flag deviations.
  • Maintain project risk registers and mitigation plans.
  • Provide weekly and monthly dashboards to project leadership.
  • F. Commercial & Contracts Support
  • Assist in drafting variation orders, change management logs, and contract correspondence.
  • Support verification of quantities, invoices, and contractor claims.
  • Ensure contractual obligations, delivery timelines, and penalties are monitored and enforced.
  • G. HSE, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure contractor compliance with AWEL HSE standards, PTW, and safety management systems.
  • Support incident reporting, audits, quality surveillance, and NCR/DR resolution.
  • Ensure safety readiness before site mobilisation and commissioning.
  • H. Documentation & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain complete project documentation, MOMs, statutory records, and revision control.
  • Coordinate with JV partners, internal management, and government bodies.
  • Prepare high-quality technical and management presentations for AWEL leadership and DGH reviews.
  • Prepare, review and update integrated project planning encompassing all activities from approvals, drilling, completion, development of surface facilities (platforms, pipelines etc), installation and commissioning
  • Developing project master schedule, updating, monitoring and reviewing contractor construction schedules, submittals, material delivery, procurement logs and daily follow-up in addition to the necessary productivity measurement studies and associated corrective measures.

Qualifications

Willingness to travel to offshore/project sites.

 2.  Ability to operate in early-stage development environments with evolving data.

 3. Certifications (advantage): PMP, CCMP, NEBOSH/IOSH, BOSIET.

 4.Hands on experience in the planning software including Primavera and MS Projects etc.

 5. Good overall technical knowledge of the upstream oil & gas industry for Offshore & Onshore area.

 6. Highly experienced in the planning & control activities of facilities for oil & gas upstream for Offshore & Onshore projects.

 7. Good leadership skills and ability to integrate various functions’ activities 

 8. Excellent inter-personal & communication skills suitable for the corporate level and governmental liaisons, and a good ability to work with all groups in the organization.

 9. Exposure to international methodologies involving pre-development assessment of oil & gas fields.

 10. Thorough knowledge of prevalent national & international development methods for offshore & onshore fields.

 11. Thorough understanding of national & international HSES system.

 12. Proven leadership skills and good relationship abilities

 13. Ability to work in multi-national environment
