Regional Operations Lead – Project and Development Services, (West India-Mumbai/ East India- Hyderabad)

Job Description Summary:

This position reports to the Region Head and is accountable for Operational excellence across the complete project delivery phase, project delivery processes, compliance, risk management processes, talent and resource identification/development/deployment across the region covering multiple cities. Working along with city heads and their delivery teams, central business operations team, cross functional JLL teams, this role will enable teams to deliver projects successfully in order to ensure client satisfaction. The position will be based in Mumbai/ Hyderabad.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Lead the development and implementation of annual operational business plans, aligning with regional and state objectives. Execute strategic initiatives set by PDS leadership, ensuring market-specific requirements are met. Develop technology roadmaps to maintain industry leadership.
  • Operational Excellence: Define and implement the "JLL Way" through standardized project and operations frameworks. Drive operational efficiency by identifying process improvements, standardizing procedures, and implementing best practices. Spearhead implementation of PDS India operations policies, procedures, and systems. Ensure ongoing certification to international standards.
  • Performance Management and Business Decision Support: Establish and monitor non-financial KPIs and objectives. Track performance metrics, conduct periodic business and project reviews, and implement corrective measures as needed. Contribute to business planning processes and support data-driven decision-making. Collaborate on setting strategic objectives and annual business plan targets.
  • Project Oversight and Delivery: Provide guidance to Delivery Leads, Senior Project Leads, and Project Leads throughout the project lifecycle, from pitches to close-out. Ensure effective project organization structures and protocols. Advise on contract administration and coordinate internal legal matters.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Maintain occupational health, safety, and environmental standards. Uphold excellence in corporate governance, compliance, and ethics across teams.
  • Team Development and Talent Management: Collaborate with the Cluster Lead to drive regional efforts in operations, hiring diverse talent, and providing training. Foster a high-performance culture of collaboration and professional growth. Jointly develop job descriptions, competency frameworks, and maintain a database of team capabilities. Ensure timely completion of performance management processes in coordination with the Cluster Lead.
  • Technical Training and Skill Development: Lead comprehensive technical training initiatives, including skill analysis, on-job training, and performance evaluation. Monitor individuals on performance improvement plans, collect feedback from cluster leads, and drive workshops for technical skills such as planning, documentation, and contracts administration in collaboration with Business Operations. Implement and oversee a structured approach to continuous learning, ensuring team members stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Develop innovative solutions for client communication. Assist in periodic reviews, address escalations, and inspire technology and data strategy adoption. Engage with the JLL community on innovation initiatives.
  • Resource Management: Work closely with the Cluster Lead to identify potential new resource requisitions based on pursuits and pipeline. Collaborate on hiring strategies and jointly manage resource utilization and allocation across projects. Support the Cluster Lead in managing debts and accounts receivable.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Ensure excellence in corporate governance, compliance, and ethics throughout the reporting teams. Oversee the implementation of JLL's standards and policies, maintaining the highest levels of integrity in all business operations.

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 15 + years of experience in project management, with a focus on leadership within the real estate sector.
  • Demonstrated success in leading simultaneously multiple complex projects and leading diverse teams of 70+
  • Strong business acumen with experience in P&L management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and strategic growth initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated client management at “C” level stakeholders in the industry
  • Collaborative, team mindset, can do attitude
  • Ability to lead through Influencing, Excellent Communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Service mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, or similar.
  • Experience with project management software and digital tools.
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and emerging industry trends.
  • Experience leading multi-state or large-scale projects.
  • Passion for fostering an inclusive and innovative team culture.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
