Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Specialist with 7 to 11 years of experience in SQL migration and AWS Database Services to lead complex database migration projects involving multiple MSSQL and Linux database servers
Job Description
Lead endtoend SQL migration projects ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime Manage migration of 11 MSSQL databases and 12 Linux database servers Ensure correct rehost and replatform patterns are applied at the database tier Design develop and implement database migration strategies leveraging AWS Database Services Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to assess migration requirements and provide scalable solutions Support applicationtodatabase mapping to ensure seamless integration Monitor and optimize database performance during and after migration Troubleshoot and resolve migrationrelated issues promptly to maintain project timelines Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in SQL migration and AWS database technologies Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on migration processes and AWS database tools
Roles and Responsibilities
Plan and execute SQL database migrations from onpremises or other cloud platforms to AWS Manage and coordinate migration activities for 11 MSSQL databases and 12 Linux database servers Develop and maintain migration documentation including architecture diagrams runbooks and rollback plans Ensure correct rehost and replatform patterns are applied at the database tier Support applicationtodatabase mapping efforts to align with business requirements Coordinate with stakeholders to understand business needs and tailor migration approaches accordingly Ensure compliance with security policies and data governance standards throughout the migration lifecycle Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize migration impact Conduct postmigration validation and performance testing to ensure successful data transfer Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide root cause analysis for any migration failures or performance issues
