The opportunity
This position works out of our Mumbai, India location in the Nutrition Division.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Assure access to high quality ingredients through efficient and effective ingredient qualification project management with regional and global cross‑functional project team members, with a primary focus on India‑based initiatives.
- Responsible for managing India‑based, regional, and selected global ingredient qualification projects from beginning to end, with accountability for project execution, timeline management, and coordination with internal cross‑functional partners and external suppliers.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and direct the activities associated with local India, regional, and selected global ingredient qualification projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks to meet business objectives and cross‑functional project timelines.
- Serve as the primary project management point of contact for India‑based stakeholders, while collaborating effectively with regional and global project teams to ensure alignment with Abbott’s ingredient qualification governance.
- Identify critical project issues and risks and communicate them in a timely manner to leadership and other project leads, as appropriate.
- Interface with external suppliers, including local, regional, and global suppliers, to collect pertinent quality, regulatory, and compliance information required for ingredient qualification.
- Utilize established IT systems and tools to execute qualification projects, support project tracking, and contribute to metrics and reporting in alignment with global standards.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work activities to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet established schedules.
- Exercise authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate actions and escalate issues as needed.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including India‑based teams, regional stakeholders, global partners, and external suppliers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING:
Required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Relevant Project Management Experience
- Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5+ years of related work experience managing regional and/or global projects, preferably in regulated, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
- Understanding of quality and compliance culture
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence cross‑functional teams across regions and time zones
- Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills
- Experience with tools such as Devex, Planview, and Microsoft Office applications
