What this job involves

 

Daily Uninterrupted Operations

You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all escalators and lifts.  Work with the Lift/escalators  Maintenance department on a regular basis and ensure all necessary utilities are provided and perform a variety of technical/ mechanical duties necessary for the maintenance of facilities. You are required to be well versed with preventive maintenance techniques including use, repair and inspection of backflow devices.

Customer Service Expectations

Lift Operations SME are responsible for supervising front-line staff whose jobs involve constant customer interaction. It is therefore of utmost importance that the Lift Operator be courteous and professional in accordance with JLL’s commitment to providing superior customer service.

Meticulous

You must keep accurate records of their service schedules. These records are used to schedule future maintenance, which often helps reduce breakdowns. You will ensure proper timely record keeping

Troubleshooting Skills.

Someone who can solve problems on their own and make informed decisions using thoughtful analysis. You are able to understand problems, think critically, and devise solutions. You must be able to diagnose problems. When an escalator stops moving, for example, mechanics determine why it stopped and make the necessary repair.

Qualified Professional

You are a diploma holder, associate's or bachelor's degree preferred with 3-4 years’ experience in lift operations /technical supervisor

  • Familiarity with ANSI B77 Code, CPTSB rules and regulations, and the Safety Act. Practices of health and safety regulations

  • Ability to use Microsoft programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and be alert and attentive to the safety of lift and passengers. 

  • Specialized tools and methods used for repair and related maintenance work.

 

Your key deliverables will be to:

  • Manage all lift operations and your team.

  • Ensure compliance with basic safety standards, policies/procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Immediately communicate any variations.

  • Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures. Perform all safety system checks regularly

  • Inspect fire extinguishers regular intervals

  • Ensure cleanliness of lift buildings, smooth functioning, and other work areas

  • Perform all tasks of a Lift Operations Supervisor, Lift Operator as needed

  • Perform necessary minor, structural additions, and repairs to lift station buildings

  • Interview and select Lift Operations team members for each operational season and as turnover requires.

  • Conduct and document regular safety and staff meetings with Lift Operations staff regular intervals.

  • Manage employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

  • Prepare and execute lift operations budget with the assistance of the Director of Mountain Operations.

  • Implement and track effective training system for all staff members.

  • Ensure proper Training in provided to all lift operators, and lead operators.  

  • Perform lift, ramp, and personnel inspections daily.

  • Maintain a functional, organized, and accessible filing system for all lift related forms and documents.

  • Handle payroll approvals for all lift operations employees and work with payroll department

  • Identify problem areas and rectify them as soon as possible

  • Take charge of lift down-time situation

  • Investigate any lift-related incidents, lift evacuation when needed

  • File appropriate Reports and assist with injury related reports and other daily operations logs.

  • Complain redressal

  • Schedule staff to ensure sufficient staffing as well as management of wages within budget guidelines

  • Ensure that all morning pre-operational checks are completed properly in all properties

  • Ensure all shut-down procedures are followed to ensure passengers safety and there is minimum TAT

  • Assist Lift Maintenance staff to ensure reliable operation of lifts
