Job Summary
Seeking a Specialist with 5 to 7 years of experience in SQL migration and AWS Database Services to lead and execute database migration projects ensuring data integrity minimal downtime and successful migration wave execution
Job Description
Lead and manage SQL database migration projects from onpremises or other cloud platforms to AWS Design develop and implement database migration strategies leveraging AWS Database Services Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime throughout migration processes Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to assess migration requirements and provide scalable solutions Support applicationtodatabase mapping to ensure seamless integration Monitor and optimize database performance during and after migration Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in SQL migration and AWS database technologies Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on migration processes and AWS database tools Support migration wave execution and customize runbooks to meet specific wave requirements Perform pre and postmigration validation across all 21 migration waves to ensure successful data transfer and system functionality
Roles and Responsibilities
Plan and execute SQL database migrations coordinating migration activities effectively Manage migration of multiple MSSQL databases and Linux database servers Apply correct rehost and replatform patterns at the database tier Develop and maintain comprehensive migration documentation including architecture diagrams runbooks and rollback plans Lead cutover activities ensuring minimal downtime and smooth migration transitions Troubleshoot and resolve migrationrelated issues promptly to maintain project timelines Coordinate with stakeholders to understand business needs and tailor migration approaches accordingly Ensure compliance with security policies and data governance standards throughout the migration lifecycle Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize migration impact Conduct postmigration validation and performance testing to ensure successful data transfer Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide root cause analysis for any migration failures or performance issues Customize runbooks to suit specific migration wave requirements Support execution and validation tasks across all 21 migration waves
