Sr Software Engineer

What's the role?

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental across the entire software development lifecycle—from initial concept and design through coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing post-production support. You will leverage your expertise to build and enhance sophisticated systems handling vast datasets within our AWS cloud environment, while also integrating AI/ML-driven capabilities into core products and workflows.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop scalable, robust full-stack applications, services, and tools using Java/Scala, specifically tailored for large-scale data processing on AWS.• Design and implement AI/ML-powered features such as predictive analytics, recommendation systems, anomaly detection, or intelligent automation within applications.• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to operationalize machine learning models, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management (MLOps).• Actively contribute to and influence architectural decisions, including the adoption of AI frameworks, model serving strategies, and data pipelines.• Take ownership of technical solutions, driving innovation and delivering high-quality results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.• Champion high standards for availability, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency in all development efforts.• Design and implement monitoring systems for deployed workflows, including AI model performance tracking and drift detection.• Proactively identify, investigate, analyze, and resolve complex software defects and model-related issues.• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers to gather requirements, including AI use cases, and refine application specifications.• Operate within an agile team framework, mentor junior engineers, actively share knowledge, conduct thorough design/code reviews, and maintain clear, proactive communication.

 

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).• Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience, with significant expertise in Java or Python and hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.• Hands-on experience or strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and data preprocessing.• Experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems using frameworks/libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar, and exposure to MLOps practices.• Familiarity with AI-driven system design, including APIs for model inference, real-time vs batch predictions, and scalable model deployment.• Deep understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design principles.• Solid grasp of functional programming concepts and modern software design patterns.• Considerable experience with and understanding of enterprise architecture paradigms.• Proven ability in full-stack architecture design and application development.• Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization (Docker), build tools (Maven/SBT), and CI/CD pipelines.• Exposure to data engineering or big data tools (Spark, Kafka) supporting AI pipelines.• Experience with LLM-based applications, prompt engineering, or generative AI use cases is a plus.
