Job Purpose: This role is responsible to manage the continuous availability and reliability of Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems for the Ash Handling Plant (AHP) and water treatment systems through regular maintenance, system backups, and technical audits. This role involves managing business associates and ensuring adherence to budgets for optimal system performance.
Lead - Field instrumentation Engineer AHP and Water circuit (BoP)
System Availability and Maintenance:
Manage the continuous availability and reliability of Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems related to Ash Handling Plant (AHP) and water treatment systems including analysers.
Conduct regular maintenance activities for AHP and water treatment systems to prevent system failures and ensure optimal performance.
Schedule and perform regular backups of PLC systems to safeguard against data loss and system downtime.
Manage the timely calibration of weighbridges and road weighbridges to ensure accurate measurements and compliance with regulatory standards.
Coordinate with contract manpower for on-field maintenance of AHP and water treatment systems to maintain system efficiency.
Provide on-field support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Zero Forced Outage (ZFO) to enhance system reliability.
Implement MoC (Management of Change) protocols to ensure safe and compliant modifications to equipment and processes.
Budget, Inventory and Documentation Management:
Provide requirements of C&I systems for AHP and water treatment systems, to ensure effective budget planning.
Manage spares and inventory, including the development of indigenous spares for cost optimization.
Manage documentation and as-built drawings for the section.
Business Sustainability:
Implement and Follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines within the department, promoting a culture of sustainability.
Develop the skills of Contract Supervisors and Technicians through knowledge sharing to build a competent workforce.
Maintain the safety of personnel and equipment through rigorous training and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Ensure the implementation of and compliance with proper work permit systems to maintain operational safety and efficiency.
Implement filed related ZFO to eliminate human error and maintain operational excellence.
Maintain a thorough understanding of PLC systems for AHP and water treatment systems to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Manage contractor safety and oversee departmental business associates to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure adherence to statutory compliances and regulations.
Digitization and Automation:
Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency within the C&I systems domain.
Implement automation solutions to support the overall organizational goals and strategy.
Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas to stay ahead of industry trends.

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in C&I or Electronics & Communication or equivalent degree.
Work Experience (Range of years):
4+ years of experience in control and instrumentation within the power plant or heavy industry sector.
Preferred Industry:
Experience in power generation, with exposure to BoP (Balance of Plant) operations including coal handling plant, water treatment plant and ash handling plant, CCTV, PA systems, FDA systems, etc.
