Job Purpose:
The NDT Inspector (QA Blade) conducts on-site non-destructive testing (NDT) of blade components to detect internal defects such as delamination's, voids, and cracks that may affect structural integrity. This role maintains detailed inspection records, supports corrective actions, ensures compliance with NDT standards, and collaborates with production teams to schedule inspections. The position involves training new inspectors, adhering to safety protocols, and providing feedback to enhance inspection processes and defect prevention efforts.
On-Site NDT Inspections of Blade Components
- Conduct on-site NDT inspections of blade components, using techniques such as ultrasonic testing, thermography, and visual inspection.
- Identify internal defects like delamination's, voids, and cracks that could compromise the structural integrity of the blades.
Documentation of NDT Activities
- Maintain detailed records of all NDT inspections, including test settings, results, and defect observations.
- Ensure all records are accurate, complete, and available for review during quality audits and process evaluations.
Support for Corrective Actions
- Report findings to the QA engineering team and assist in implementing corrective actions, including rework or rejection of defective components.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to verify the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Compliance with NDT Standards
- Ensure all NDT activities comply with standards such as ISO 9712 and internal QA protocols for blade manufacturing.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new NDT techniques and industry best practices.
Team Coordination and Feedback
- Work closely with other NDT inspectors and QA engineers to ensure consistent application of inspection techniques and standards.
- Provide feedback on NDT results to support continuous improvement of inspection processes.
Safety and Equipment Maintenance
- Adhere to all safety guidelines during NDT inspections, including the safe handling of equipment and materials.
- Ensure NDT equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to standard operating procedures.
Collaboration with Production Teams
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule NDT inspections and minimize disruption to the manufacturing process.
- Provide insights on defect trends to production teams to support process improvements and defect prevention efforts.
Support Training and Skill Development
- Assist in training new inspectors on proper NDT techniques and equipment use, enhancing the team’s inspection capabilities.
- Engage in continuous learning to improve inspection skills and stay updated on NDT advancements.

Educational Background:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
