Job Purpose:
The Supplier (QA Blade) manages the quality assurance of materials supplied for blade manufacturing, including fiberglass, resins, and adhesives. This role conducts supplier audits, monitors performance, and manages non-conformances to ensure material consistency and compliance with standards. The position maintains detailed documentation, collaborates with QA and production teams, and supports supplier development through training and continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing the overall quality of blade materials.
Supplier Quality Assurance
- Manage supplier quality processes for blade manufacturing materials, including fiberglass, resin, and adhesives.
- Conduct supplier audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards, focusing on material properties such as tensile strength and curing characteristics.
Material Inspection and Validation for trials / prototype materials
- Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet specifications for fiber orientation, resin viscosity, and core density in support with the plant quality incoming team..
- Conduct sample testing of materials, such as gel time and tensile tests, to validate supplier quality and performance.
Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Monitor supplier performance through regular quality reviews, tracking defect rates, and compliance with agreed-upon quality standards.
- Implement supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement plans to address quality issues and enhance material consistency.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain detailed records of supplier inspections, test results, and corrective actions, ensuring traceability and compliance with quality agreements.
- Ensure all supplier-related quality documentation meets the requirements for internal audits and customer reviews.
Non-Conformance Management
- Identify and document non-conformances in supplier-provided materials, coordinating with suppliers to implement corrective measures.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and prevent recurrence of material defects.
Standards Compliance and Updates
- Ensure supplier quality activities comply with relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and IEC specifications for composite materials.
- Regularly update supplier quality protocols to reflect changes in material standards and technological advancements.
Collaboration with QA and Production Teams
- Work closely with QA and production teams to ensure supplier quality issues are promptly addressed and do not impact blade manufacturing.
- Provide feedback on supplier performance and support decision-making on material selection and supplier retention.
Training and Supplier Development
- Provide training to suppliers on quality expectations, standards compliance, and advanced material testing techniques.
- Support suppliers in developing their quality management processes to better meet the demands of blade manufacturing.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
Work Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in supplier quality assurance, particularly for composite materials used in blade manufacturing.
Industry Knowledge:
- Expertise in material inspection, supplier audits, and quality management systems.
