Job Description
Job Summary
The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, managing inventory of solar equipment and materials, ensuring proper stock levels, and coordinating with procurement, installation, and sales teams. The role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy in stock handling, and knowledge of solar components.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials (solar panels, inverters, cables, structures, etc.)
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and audits
- Maintain FIFO (First In First Out) system
2. Material Handling & Dispatch
- Ensure proper receiving, unloading, and storage of materials
- Coordinate dispatch of materials for site installations
- Verify materials against purchase orders and delivery challans
- Maintain dispatch records and documentation
3. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with procurement team for material requirements
- Work closely with project/site teams for timely material supply
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
- Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note), stock registers, and inward/outward records
- Ensure proper labeling and storage practices
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in the store
- Ensure compliance with company policies
5. Team Management
- Supervise store assistants and helpers
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance
- Ensure discipline and efficiency in store operations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Logistics / Any relevant field
- 2–5 years of experience in store or inventory management prefered (solar or electrical industry preferred)
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (Excel / ERP)
- Familiarity with solar products (Panels, Inverters, BOS materials)
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Tally preferred)
