Job Description: Quality Control Inspector in a Metal Stamping Factory
Position: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Rabale MIDC, Navi Mumbai
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: Quality Control Manager
Qualification - Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
Job Summary: The Quality Control Inspector in a metal stamping factory is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance. This role involves inspecting and testing materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure they comply with specifications and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming raw materials to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Perform regular in-process checks to ensure ongoing compliance during production.
- Inspect finished products for defects and compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and other quality control activities.
- Prepare and present quality reports, highlighting any deviations from standards and recommending corrective actions.
- Measurement and Analysis:
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM, VMM and other tools to measure dimensions, thickness, and other physical properties.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine quality standards.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all products adhere to industry and regulatory standards, as well as company quality policies.
- Stay updated on relevant industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Problem-Solving:
- Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and collaborate with production staff to develop solutions.
- Recommend modifications to current quality processes and procedures to enhance overall product quality.
- Safety and Maintenance:
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure the use of proper safety equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical training in quality control or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Fresher or Maximum 1 year of experience in quality control, preferably in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in using measurement and inspection tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar certification is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 1 Kg.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Manual dexterity to handle precision tools and instruments.
- Good visual acuity for detailed inspection work.
- Work Environment: The position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection is required.
- Additional Information: Shift Timing = 9.00 am to 6.30 pm
