Civil Engineer(BOQ Exper)

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Estimation & BOQ Preparation

Gather, analyze, and interpret project requirements, design drawings, and specifications to prepare BOQs and cost estimates.

Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) including item descriptions, preambles, and pricing.

Develop BOQ templates in required formats (familiar with Uniformat or MasterFormat).

Prepare estimated project BOQs with accurate quantity take-offs.

Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.

Estimate labor cost, timelines, and construction materials from local and international markets (including MEP, Civil, and Architectural works).

2. Value Engineering & Cost Control

Perform value engineering and alternative costing analysis.

Recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or compliance.

3. Specifications & Documentation

Prepare project specifications in the required format.

Review drawings and project information to write and edit technical specifications.

Ensure compliance with project requirements, institutional guidelines, standards, regulations, and applicable codes.

Recommend acceptance, provide advice, and suggest revisions to specification documents.

Represent the Specification Unit and participate in committees related to specification development.

4. Contract & Project Coordination

Manage contract documentation and administration.

Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and subcontractors.

Prepare detailed reports and tender/bid submissions.

Translate project design requirements into materials, methods, equipment, and procedures.

5. Technical Expertise

In-depth knowledge and experience in Method of Measurement (M.O.M).

Strong experience in general building construction projects (excluding oil & gas and industrial sectors).

Comprehensive understanding of construction processes and standards.
