Customer Service Associate

Role Overview

The Customer Service Associate is the face of the store on the floor. You are responsible for ensuring customers find what they need, that shelves are stocked correctly, and that the store operates cleanly and efficiently at all times. This is a hands-on, high-energy role that combines warehouse discipline with customer-facing service.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations & Inventory

• Execute FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation strictly across all product categories — dry goods, grains, pulses, and packaged items
• Receive incoming stock, verify quantities against purchase orders, and report discrepancies to the supervisor
• Ensure correct placement of products on shelves with proper labeling and pricing
• Conduct daily shelf audits and flag near-expiry, damaged, or mislabeled products
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the store floor, storage area, and back warehouse at all times

Customer Handling

• Greet and assist customers on the floor in a courteous, knowledgeable manner
• Guide customers to products and provide accurate information on variants, quantities, and pricing
• Handle customer complaints and queries promptly; escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor
• Support billing and checkout during peak hours as needed

Warehouse & Stock Management

• Assist with loading and unloading of stock; organise storage area to ensure easy access and traceability
• Maintain accurate records of stock movement in physical registers or digital systems as applicable
• Participate in periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation
• Ensure warehouse is compliant with food safety and hygiene standards at all times

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in retail, FMCG, or grocery operations preferred
• Familiarity with FIFO principles and basic inventory management
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude
• Physically fit — role involves lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods
• Honest, punctual, and a reliable team player
• Basic literacy and numeracy; familiarity with billing systems is a plus
