Logistics Supervisor

The Logistics Incharge is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely transportation of steel products. This includes coordinating trucks, managing warehouse inventory, optimizing delivery routes, and managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Transportation Management: Coordinate daily transportation needs, select the most efficient transportation methods (road/rail), and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Loading & Safety Compliance: Ensure proper loading of saria/steel rods to prevent damage during transit and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Inventory & Warehouse Control: Oversee inventory levels, maintain accurate stock records of steel products, and coordinate with the warehouse team for receiving and dispatching goods.
• Vendor/Transporter Negotiation: Negotiate transport rates and maintain positive relationships with third-party logistics providers, drivers, and freight companies.
• Documentation: Prepare all necessary documentation, including bill of ladings, dispatch notes, transport documents, and invoices, ensuring compliance with local transport regulations.
• Route Optimization: Optimize delivery routes to reduce transit time and fuel costs.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve issues with deliveries, such as delays, damaged goods, or incorrect orders.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in logistics, specifically in manufacturing or steel/metal industry.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead a logistics team and work under pressure.
